New Trash Receptacle Removal Ordinance
The Village Council adopted ordinance no. 2022-103 on May 18, 2022 regarding trash and recycle receptacles which states the day and time that the receptacles may be placed at the edge of the road for pick up and the day and time that they must be removed after pick up.
The new ordinance goes into effect on July 1, 2022.
The ordinance states that trash and recycle receptacles cannot be placed at the edge of the street before 12:00 p.m. EST - 11:00 a.m. CST on the day before pickup and must be removed from the edge of the road no later than 8:00 p.m. EST - 7:00 p.m. CST on the day of pick up.
If a homeowner, renter, resident, or other responsible party fails to comply with the above requirements, trash receptacles will be pulled back from the curb or edge of the road by a Village employee on the morning after trash pick up.
There will be a five dollar ($5.00) charge per week for homeowners, renters, residents, and/or other responsible parties that refuse to comply with the requirements of the Ordinance, and Village employees will move and pull back the trash and recycle receptacles after the regular pick up days.
The charge of five dollars ($5.00) per week for a Village employee to move a trash and/or recycle receptacle to the appropriate location on any property shall be billed on the property’s water bill.
