by Mary Robertson
Friday, July 1, 2022

The Village finalized the purchase of the Grand Beach Nature Preserve on November 17, 2021.  The purchase was made possible with generous grants from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund and The Pokagon Fund, donations from the families of Erich Hamburger, Ernest Mathias, Lawrence Frankle and many very generous Village residents and contributors.

Village residents are invited to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m EST - 9:00 a.m. CST.  The ceremony will be held at the path trailhead located at Rohde Field.

The Village is very happy to own this beautiful 45.8 acre parcel of land.  It will be preserved for the enjoyment of future generations.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the fundraising, and for all of the generous donations!
