2026 Grand Beach Trash Calendar
Trash is picked up by Republic Services on Monday year round with an extra pickup on Friday between July 1 and the Friday after Labor Day.
Place cans (carts) at the edge of the street by 7:00 a.m. EST.
If Monday falls on a major holiday, they will pick up on Tuesday.
You may leave one large item out for pick up each week. Call Republic Services at 219-926-1046 to reach our local operations clerk, to make arrangements so that they can send a special truck if necessary. You will be charged a fee for any items containing Freon.

Regular trash and recycling services are billed every two months on your Grand Beach utility bill. Every home is provided one trash and one recycling receptacle. Some additional services are provided directly via the provider Republic Services.

Cart Restrictions
Trash receptacles cannot be placed at the edge of the street or curb before 12:00 p.m. EST the day before trash pickup is scheduled to occur, or before 12:00 p.m. EST the day before a late trash pickup is scheduled due to a holiday.
Trash receptacles must be pulled away from the edge of the street or curb and stored next to or inside of a garage, home, fence, or other enclosure by 8:00 p.m. EST on the day of trash pickup or by 8:00 p.m. of the day of a trash pickup that is delayed due to a holiday.
In no event shall a trash receptacle be moved and stored less than 10 feet away from the roadway unless such trash receptacle is placed in an enclosed area such as a garage or fence, or moved immediately adjacent to the home.

Republic Services provides curbside recycling pickup on alternate Mondays, except between July 1st and Labor Day when it is picked up every Monday.
Cans (carts) should be at the edge of the street by 7:00 a.m. EST - 6:00 a.m. CST. Call Republic Services at (219) 926-1046 for a missed pick-up.
Glass, metal, cans, papers, cardboard and certain plastics may be co-mingled in the recycling can (cart). Be sure to rinse food or liquid out before placing items in the recycle can (cart).
